International photography festival opens in HCM City

The main aim of the six-day event is to introduce Vietnamese landscapes and people to international friends. It also offers an excellent opportunity for both local and international artists to meet and exchange their respective experiences on the art of photography.

The highlight of the occasion will be a 500-outstanding-photo exhibition featuring beautiful landscapes and people’s cultural life from throughout the country.

A number of activities will also be held during the course of the event, such as a seminar on contemporary photography, exchanges between local and foreign artists, as well as a photo marathon and photo tour contests.

Moreover, a range of equipment and new technology used in photography will also be put on display.

This year’s contest has attracted 5,834 entries by 534 photographers from 36 countries and territories worldwide.

Vietnam athletes offered $1mn for winning Paris Olympic gold medal

The bonuses, which are the biggest rewards ever offered in Vietnam’s sports history, result from a deal signed by the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) and a strategic partner of the International Sports Funding & Support Association (ISF) in South Korea that will sponsor the entire amount. Philippines Commends Vietnam’s Participation in AMNEX 2

At the opening ceremony of the second ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise. The second ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX 2) opened on May 12 at the Philippines’ Naval Operating Base Subic. Naval ships from Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and the host Philippines joined the exercise. Vietnam’s Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4 Colonel Nguyen Van Ngan and Lieutenant Colonel Ma Nguyen Thanh, Captain of 015-Tran Hung Dao naval ship, attended the event.
